Wildlife and nature photographer Jack Smith lives in Helotes, Texas at the edge of the Texas hill country. He is  self-employed as a full-time freelance professional photographer.

Jack specializes in landscape and wildlife digital photography for home and office décor.

He started his photography business in January, 2006. Common Name, Uncommon Images is his slogan.

While the name Smith is common, Jack's photography is not, hence the business name: Smith's Uncommon Images.

In fact, his images of Texas landscapes are so vivid and artfully rendered that you my feel compelled to walk into them, as Alice through the looking glass ( a quote from an article written about Jack in the March, 2008 edition of Scene in S.A. magazine.

From fields of Texas bluebonnets, to flowing creeks, to grazing longhorn cattle, to stands of magnificent oak and maple trees, to vibrant sunrises, his photographs capture Texas at it's finest.

Capturing the beauty of nature and animals are Jack's passions and sharing these images is his mission.

His favorite subjects are mountain scenery and the wildlife that one finds there. Traveling to Alaska is one of Jack's favorite road trip adventures.

Incidentally, Jack was born on the same day, September 7th, as his brother and sister, in different years. Although he was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico he has also lived in Illinois, California and Texas.

Jack worked for nineteen years as the elementary school counselor at Morrill Elementary School in the Harlandale ISD of San Antonio, Texas and twelve years as an elementary school physical education teacher in the Edgewood and San Antonio School Districts before retiring in June, 2007.

Jack has been married for forty-nine years, has two adult children and three grandchildren.

Sixteen years ago his wife encouraged him to follow his dreams: He believes his parents would have also approved.

Jack's brother always used to tell him that Nikon was the best equipment for photography. Hence, he is now heavily invested in Nikon digital camera equipment.
